And Now?

I am…

indomitable, enthusiastic, and youthful
healing from abandonment, abuse, and self-loathing
finally old enough to reparent myself and live the life I deserve.

I believe…

The primary lesson I came into this life to learn was forgiveness. I’m ready.

Thank you…

to my mother, who insisted I take piano lessons and just kept going the best she could, and to Sharlene Denny, who let me keep dancing when we were too poor to pay.

And thank YOU for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day, and a rich and happy life.

  1. I nominated your blog for The Versatile Blogger award! Please take a look at and respond in accordance with the award rules. You need to list 10 facts about yourself and “nominate” another 15-20 blogs. It is a great way for the blogging community to get to know each other and for me to say how much I enjoy your blog!

  2. Hello, CRH, I just wanted to say that I read some of your history (not all, but definitely worth reading more later when I have time) and I applaud you! As an active Mormon, I wondered when I said something about going to Ricks if you would have answered back. Thanks for doing so as I think how hard of a struggle it was for you when you were growing up around many Mormons around and yet very bad things happened to you causing you to leave the Church. I am greatful that you didn’t shut me down after I mentioned it. I also can’t believe that while your experience at Ricks was not the greatest, you and I were there at the same time. I was there in 1991-92 and 94-95 and also served a mission in Utah Ogden, so understand your love of Utah. I honestly would love to go back and if I ever can snag a job there, we would be there in an instant. Anyways, though you might be “bitter” about things that haven’t happened in your Mormon past, thanks for accepting me as one who does still go. It must also be really hard to be seperated from your parents partially because of the church but also the way they treated you. Good luck with your blog and again I applaud you for still living in Utah despite what some members have done to you. I kind of feel bad for being bitter since I don’t really have a reason and you legitimately do, but you don’t seem to hold a grudge.

    • you rock! i have tons of friends and family who remain active. that doesn’t define whom i choose to associate with. as for not deserving your bitterness, bollocks! i’ve always found it annoying when one’s perspective or experience is dismissed, because someone else has it worse. someone always has it worse! we are only charged with getting through our own day, thank you very much! 🙂 thanks for the great comment. thanks for reading. i certainly enjoy your blog. and… small world!
